Late Friday night, Down the Road Beer Company announced it will be “closed until further notice,” but the closure is expected to be temporary.

The announcement was posted to the brewery’s Facebook page just over two weeks following the unexpected death of founder Donovan Bailey.

The closure appears to be temporary and will not affect any production or distribution operations.

“Distribution has not been stopped,” said a brewery spokesperson. “We have just closed the tap room for a few days to mourn the death of our founder.”

Donovan passed away on July 31 at the age of 46. After years of contract brewing, he and his team opened the Everett taproom in late 2017.
