Vitamin Sea releases exclusive beer with ‘Most Dog Friendly Brewery in the Country’

Vitamin Sea Brewing teamed up with Salt & Oak Brewery, the internet’s hottest new brewery, to release a brand new beer poured exclusively for Pennsylvania beer festival attendees this weekend.

Sea Salt is a 6.8% ABV NEIPA hopped with Citra and Simcoe, capturing the essence of Salt & Oak’s flagship IPA Cat Pissy. The beer was exclusively poured at Beerscovery’s Too Hot for Gram 3 beer festival, hosted at Imprint Beer Co. in Hatfield, PA, Saturday, Feb. 24.

This marks the first beer collaboration from Salt & Oak, which has been the talk of Beer Nerd Instagram since late December 2023. Some haters in the comments have alleged (with no actual proof) that the brewery is made up and all the photos are simply AI generations from verified beer troller Hazeboiz.

If that were the case, how could Salt & Oak have been recently named “The Most Dog Friendly Brewery in the Country” by the one-and-only Mac McAlister? They’ve since displayed the prestigious award in their barleywine sauna.

In addition to their dog-friendly taproom, it’s the most kid-friendly taproom I’ve ever seen. As a dad myself, I make it a point to bring my son everywhere as if he was just “one of the guys.” Usually, I have to pack a bunch of Cheerios and charge up his tablet that’s always on the loudest volume setting before we head out to a brewery. But the beauty of Salt & Oak is they’ve installed a playground, a daycare, and a kids-only taproom so you can enjoy pounding $12 beers and eating bacon and coleslaw tacos in peace.

It’s fitting that Salt & Oak would choose Vitamin Sea for its first collaboration release since they also know what it’s like to have their physical existence doubted. Before Vitamin Sea opened up its Weymouth taproom in February 2019, people often speculated that it was all IG hype and cool swag and the occasional can of hazy you got from a guy who knew a guy. Oh, and ducks. I recall there being a lot of ducks early on.

Of course, Vitamin Sea is the real deal and actually plans to open up a second location in Plymouth later this year. While I’m not sure if they also plan to serve up bacon and slaw tacos, it’s a good bet they’ll invite their friend from Salt & Oak over to brew another collab once settled into the new space. And I’ll be there waiting in line for the release with my kid and dog by my side.
