Time to lace up those running shoes, stretch out those hamstrings, and crack open a beer: The South Shore’s fiercest road race returns next month.
That’s right, it’s time for the 5th annual Bog Iron Brewing 0.0k Road Race!
Prepare yourself to run an entire 0.0k! That’s 0 miles for you folks that aren’t too good with metric conversions.
If you’re tired of listening to that one friend that’s always talking about their last race or their next race or whatever other weird “fun run” they’ve got coming up, now you can talk about your upcoming road race. You get all that glory without having to do any running!
All joking aside, the 0.0k is a fantastic fundraising event raising money for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, which provides financial support to families battling cancer.
This year’s event take place on Sunday, June 3 at Francis Farm in Rehoboth from noon – 5 p.m.. Last year’s participants set a new course record of running absolutely nowhere for 11 minutes and 28 seconds. Let’s see if we can break that record this year! If you make it across the finish line, you’ll earn yourself a medal and a spot in the record books.
Registration is open through the end of Sunday, May 27. Your entry includes a racing bib, t-shirt, free food, live music, and discounted pours from Bog Iron, Black Hat Brew Works, 10th District Brewing, and Shovel Town Brewery.
This is seriously a fantastic way to kick off your summer. It’s one giant party filled with great people and great beer. You see folks you know, make new friends, and help out an amazing charity. (Bonus: Joe Andruzzi will be there hanging out and totally won’t judge you for taking a slightly intoxicated selfie with him.)
Sign up today and don’t miss out on this growing tradition. Register as a team to get you and your group of friends matching t-shirts and don’t forget to dress the part. Throw on that headband, strap on the fanny pack, and break out those short shorts!
