Get a taste of the south shore’s best breweries all in one place at the second annual South Shore Farmer Brew Fest on Sunday, October 8, at Black Hat Brew Works. Enjoy samples from 15 of the best craft breweries in southern Massachusetts. Attending this year’s festival: 10th District Brewing, Barrel House Z, Berkley Beer Co., Black Hat Brew Works, Bog Iron Brewing, Buzzards Bay Brewing, High Limb Cider, Independent Fermentations, Mayflower Brewing, Old Colony Brewing, Plymouth Beer Co., Second Wind Brewing, Shovel Town Brewing, Skyroc Brewery, and Widowmaker Brewing.
This is unlike any other brew fest you’ve attended this year. Unlike most festivals, there are no distributors involved and the people pouring your beers either brewed them or work at that particular brewery. Take time to chat with brewers or staff while mingling with other beer lovers on a Sunday afternoon.
Plus, 100% of money raised from ticket sales will be donated to local charities. Last year, proceeds went to the Bridge Center and Bridgewater’s police and fire departments.
If you get hungry, there will be plenty of food from Fiamma Bella Wood Fired Pizza, the Bearded Chicken BBQ, 10B Pasta Co., Park Dogs, and Mom on the Go.
As the south shore’s beer scene continues to grow, this is a great time to check out some staple regional brewers as well as some of the newest breweries to open their doors. This is also a great opportunity to meet local homebrewers that may be on their way to opening shop themselves.
It’s a holiday weekend, the Pats are playing on Thursday, and the weather looks to be perfect. Why wouldn’t you attend?!
