In recent years, road races involving craft beer have become increasingly popular. While this is great for those “crazy” people who enjoy running for fun, the rest of us may just roll in after the race for the beer sampling and food.
Luckily, the folks over at Bog Iron Brewing (Norton, MA) created an event I’ve been training for all my life and never knew it.
Head on down to Lake Pearl in Wrentham, MA June 11th for the fourth annual Bog Iron 0.0K Road Race. As part of the brewery’s annual charitable fundraiser, participants will gather at the start line and travel absolutely nowhere! This year’s course record to beat is 11:28, so make sure you’re in perfect glass-raising shape.
After the race, all can enjoy live music, a DJ, a cornhole tournament, discounted pints and FREE food!
Bog Iron will be serving up some brews with special guests Black Hat Brew Works (Bridgewater, MA) and 10th District Brewing Co. (Abington, MA).
For a $40 registration fee, all runners will receive an official 0.0K t-shirt (with their “running team” name on the back if they so chose), a numbered running bib, and a medal goes to any first place winners.
Time is running out, so sign up before May 31st to get in on the fun! This will absolutely be a fantastic afternoon filled with fun and I am totally looking forward to completing my first road race.
All money raised will be donated to the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, which supports families battling cancer.
