The U.S. Open Beer Championship has been known for offering the most diverse beer categories of any competition since 2009. This year, the Coffee Beer Light and Coffee Beer Dark categories were introduced, allowing brewers to showcase the diverse expressions of coffee beers, from light and subtle roasts to bold, dark roast profiles. Due to an increase in submissions this year, 2026 will include a new deducated Rice Lager category.
