November marks the beginning of the holiday season and a time of celebration. It’s also the perfect time to celebrate major milestones for five local breweries, and one distillery, hosting anniversary festivities this month.

Shaidzon Beer Company, West Kingston, RI

Shaidzon Beer Company kicks things off in South County with its sixth anniversary celebration weekend Nov. 17–19. The weekend’s festivities include plenty of tasty food, live music, and, of course, specialty beer releases.

The full lineup of releases will be available beginning Friday, Nov. 17, and includes:

  • Shaidzon Sixth Anniversary – An Imperial Stout with Brazil Sul de Minas Coffee and Peru Chuncho Cocoa Husks & Nibs. Brewed in collaboration with Seaworthy Coffee Roasters and Gansett Craft Chocolate
  • Olivia Eve – A Sour Ale aged 5.5 years on raspberries and cranberries
  • Barrel Aged Fifth Anniversary – An Imperial Stout with coconut and Engine Room Espresso coffee from Seaworthy Coffee Roasters aged one year in a Sons of Liberty whiskey barrel
  • Noël – A Belgian-Style Holiday Spiced Quad

O’Brien & Brough, Bristol, RI

A short drive down the road is Rhode Island’s newest distillery, O’Brien & Brough. They’re celebrating their first rotation around the sun on Saturday, Nov. 18, with the launch of a new cocktail menu and the release of Lime Rock Gin, a coastal gin featuring fresh botanical flavors from the land and the sea crafted in partnership with Newport Sea Salt Co.

One week later, the festivities continue on the East Bay as Pivotal Brewing Company, neighbors of O’Brien & Brough at 500 Wood Street, celebrates two years of operation at the complex Nov. 22–25 (they’ll be closed on Thanksgiving).

Live music and a rotating food lineup will fill the taproom each day and special anniversary beer releases are planned.
